Trojans fall on the road to University of St. Thomas

ST. PAUL, Minn. - After an offensive explosion in their opening game of the season the Trojans only mustered 7 points in their first loss of the season, coming up on the short end of a 76-7 loss to the Tommies.

St. Thomas came out of the gates quickly, exploding for 34 points in the opening quarter of the game.

Despite trailing 34-0, the Trojans connected on their first touchdown of the game, as Freshman Ryan Heath tossed a 75-yard touchdown pass to Javiel Jones for the Trojans lone touchdown of the game.

After a better performance defensively in the second quarter the Tommies once again controlled the game offensively, putting up at least 14 points a quarter for the remainder of the game.

Defensively for TIU, Marcus Swint and Courtland Boucher finished with a team high 9 tackles in the 76-7 loss.

TIU is back in action next weekend when they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on #16 Concordia University.
