MOUNT VERNON, Iowa. - A late goal from Senior Kylie Bowman sent the Trojans to their second win of the season, a 2-1 road victory over Cornell College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans came out of the gate quickly in the first half, peppering 11 shots with 5 of them being on frame. Despite the multiple offensive opportunities the Trojans could not seem to find the back of the net in the opening half.

After the halftime break the Trojans once again got things going offensively quickly, but this time they'd connect and open the scoring. Freshman Kailynd Tubb scored just four minutes into the half after an assist from Jillian Kolster that put the Trojans up 1-0.

The Trojan defense played solid all night long, but a yellow card given inside the 18 yard box in the 69th minute set up CC to tie the game on a penalty kick. 

With the game tied 1-1 after the PK conversion from Cornell the Trojans seemed destined for their second overtime match of the season but the 88th minute goal from Bowman pushed the Trojans to a 2-1 victory.

The Lady Trojans will open the conference season next Wednesday when they head back to Iowa to take on St. Ambrose University.
