DEERFIELD, Ill. - Looking for their second CCAC win of the season the TIU Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Holy Cross College on Tuesday afternoon on Schartner Field.

Both sides had their opportunities in the first half but it was Saints who struck first. Senior GK Aaron Gerdes, making his first start of the season made the initial save but the rebound opportunity found the back of th net for the early 1-0 lead.

After a lightning delay stopped the match with 33 minutes remaining in the first half, the Saints once again scored this time taking a 2-0 lead with just under a half hour to play.

The Trojans continued to fight throughout the remainder of the second half, as Sean Fenton got the Trojans on the scoreboard to cut the deficit to one. Despite their strong play in the final 30 minutes the Saints were able to close out the victory, handing TIU their first CCAC loss of the season.

The Trojans will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Milwaukee to take on #13 Cardinal Stritch University.
