MILWAUKEE, Wis.—The TIU Men's Soccer team was not yet able to earn their second conference win as they fell short against #13 nationally ranked Cardinal Stritch University, in a 6-1 loss at the Bavarian Soccer Complex in Milwaukee.
Despite a late goal by freshman
Kristian Niemiec, which was scored from a penalty kick drawn by
Josiah Joseph, the Trojans couldn't find their rhythm against the Wolves' strong defense and fast offense.
Although freshmen
Troy Sy and Jorge Vazquez and senior Nate Michaelis worked to put a few timely shots on goal, the team was not able to find the back of the net for the rest of the match.
CSU started off the game aggressively, putting away four goals in the first twenty-seven minutes of play. However, a more collected second-half defense and multiple great saves by goalkeeper Edward Windsor ensured that the Wolves would only put away two more goals for the rest of the match. Windsor would finish the match with an impressive seventeen saves.
The team will return to their home field this week to face conference opponent Roosevelt University at 4:00 in the afternoon on Wednesday, October 3
