BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - In their opening game of the weekend the TIU Women's Soccer team came up short to the University of the Cumberlands, falling 5-1 on Friday afternoon.

Senior Jillian Kolster continued her strong start to the season, getting the Trojans on the board early in the first half.slotted the ball home after a pass from Kyle Bowman set up the senior for her third goal of the season in the 16th minute.

The Trojan defense stood tall throughout the remainder of the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Despite their strong defensive efforts in the first half UC was unable to be contained as the Patriots would score 5 goals in the final 40 minutes of the game.

The Trojans will be back in action tomorrow when they take on Mount Vernon Nazarene University at 6:30 PM.
