BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - In their second match of the weekend the TIU Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half the Trojans and Cougars both looked to settle the match in the final 45 minutes. The Trojans would get on the board first as Jeanine Valera put away her first career goal at TIU, converting on a pass from Jillian Kolster in the 53rd minute.

After taking the lead early in the second frame the Cougars bounced right back, tying the game 1-1 in thr 66th minute.

Both sides tried to break the deadlock through the remainder of the half and both overtime periods, but neither team could find the back of the net.

The Lady Trojans will close out their non-conference schedule this Wednesday when they travel to Iowa to take on Cornell College at 4:30 PM.
