DEERFIELD, Ill. - A slow start to the opening quarter was too much for the Trojans to overcome as the TIU Women's Basketball team suffered an 87-69 loss to Cardinal Stritch University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wolves opened the game on a quick 11-0 run that put the Trojans in an early deficit that would give CSU the lead for the entirety of the game. After only tallying 8 points in the opening 10 minutes the Trojans started to rally back in the final moments of the second half, with
Krystal Walker and
Katie Martin each finishing the frame in double figures.
The second half saw a much better performance from the Trojans, who fought right back into the game midway through the third quarter. Cutting the deficit to just 9 points, the Wolves continued to knock down big shots, and dominated on the glass, eventually handing TIU a 87-69 loss.
TIU will be back in action this weekend when they host Trinity Christian College on Saturday for Upward Night at 5 PM.
