JOLIET, Ill. - Taking on the top team in the CCAC and one of the top teams in the country the TIU Women's Basketball team were unable to pick up their second consecutive win, suffering a 71-48 loss to the Saints on Wednesday evening.

The Trojans played a solid opening half to the game, keeping pace with the #13 ranked Saints through 20 minutes. The Trojan defense did a solid job locking down defensing NAIA National Player of the Week Kaitlyn Aylward, holding her to just 7 points at the break. 

Trailing 40-30 heading into the second half the Trojan offense went cold. TIU saw their solid shooting percentage fall in the final 20 minutes, connecting on just 6 field goals and were unable to corral the high scoring Saints.

Krystal Walker and Bridgette Smith did their best to keep TIU in it, finishing with 10 points a piece, but it was not enough to push the Trojans past USF.

TIU will look to bounce back when they take on Calumet College St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon.
