BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The Trinity International University men's soccer team took on Trinity Christian College on Wednesday afternoon in hopes to find their first win in the conference season.
The game remained even with TIU having five shots compared to TCCs three, but the Trojans would come out for the second half as a new team having 12 shots and putting two in the back of the net. Freshman Xavier Brown opened the scoring in the 51st minute after a clearance from the Trojan defense had him going into the box, and putting it just over goalkeeper Mathis Muller. Just a few minutes later, Brown would follow up a missed clearance off a long throw from Caleb Wells in the 63rd minute.
TIU would finish out the match, giving Andre Wentzel his third complete game shutout and the Trojans their first win in the conference.
The Trojans return home to host Andrews University on Thursday, October 10 for Senior Day, dedicated to the lone Senior Luke Stell with the kickoff set for 4:00PM.
