Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

TIU falls to Holy Cross, 1-0

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The Trinity International University women's soccer team took on the Holy Cross College Saints on Wednesday afternoon at Schartner Field in hopes to continue their winning streak to six games. Coming off a big win last week over nationally ranked Trinity Christian College, TIU looked to continue their excellent play against the Saints, where the Trojans have faced Holy Cross 11 times and won every single matchup by three or more goals.

This year's game was a different team for the Saints as they have won more than 50% of their games currently which would test Trinity. The first half was all in the Saint's favor as Holy Cross denied the Trojans a chance to shoot while creating seven chances themselves, but could not put the ball past senior goalkeeper Rebecca Wells. The half would end 0-0, but the Trojans would come out harder as the second half gave them more opportunities, but the Saints would be the team to strike first after the whistle to start the second half.

Olivia Shaw would snap the scoreless tie with a shot finding the back of the net being assisted by Kathleen Ming after a poor clearance by the Trojans. Although the Trojans had more opportunities in the second half, they could not finish past the strong back line of Holy Cross to give the Saints their first win against the Trojans in their history.

The Trojans take on University of St. Francis Fighting Saints on Saturday, October 19 at 12:00PM at Schartner Field.
