TIU Football falls at Saint Ambrose

DAVENPORT, Iowa --- The Trinity International University football team took to the road on Saturday night as they battled the Saint Ambrose Fighting Bees at Brady Street Stadium in Mid-States Football Association-Midwest League action.

The Bees offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage as they helped clear the path for Saint Ambrose to run for 451 yards on the ground en route to a 63-7 win over the Trojans. TIU struggled to find their run game as they were stuffed for negative yardage on 48 carries.

The Trojans offense turned the ball over five times, including three lost fumbles and two interceptions. In relief at quarterback for Jimmy Campbell, Darrius Henderson completed 13 of 19 passes for 198 yards in the air and provided the TIU's lone score of the game in the fourth quarter on a one-yard touchdown run.

Defensively, Kemon Reese, the Trojan's team leader in tackles, led TIU with nine total tackles, including seven solo. Lorenzano Blakeney also tallied seven tackles on the day.

The Trojans return home to Leslie Frazier Field on Saturday, October 26 for Senior Day as they host the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats in the final home game of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00PM.
