Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer falls to Eagles, 1-0

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The Trinity International University Lady Trojans soccer team played host to the Judson Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Schartner Field. In a key matchup for conference playoff positioning, the Trojans looked to continue their pursuit of gaining a first round home game in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament. TIU entered the match in fifth place looking to move up a spot after drawing four points off of the top two teams and have played to the level of their competition.

Both the Eagles and Trojans both took advantage of opportunities on goal early, but both teams would dominate defensively to deny any opportunity for a shot to enter the net. The Trojans would have five shots in the half and the Eagles having six with all opportunities not being very promising.

The second half would be different for the Trojans as the cold, rainy weather would cause trouble for the girls, but the Eagles would show promise as they maintained possession and had another six opportunities and denying Trinity of any opportunity to score.  Adela Payelo would open the scoring for the Eagles in the 60th minute after a shot from the corner of the box would sail over the head of TIU goalkeeper Rebecca Wells and into the side of the goal for the lead. The Trojans tried to fight back, but were not able to get any movement going and would struggle to move the ball up the field as Judson ended the match with the 1-0 victory.

TIU continues its chase for CCAC playoff seeding as they take on Governors State on Tuesday, October 29 under the lights at 8:00PM in University Park.
