UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. --- The TIU Lady Trojan soccer team took on the Governors State Jaguars on Tuesday in hopes to earn three more points and to move up the chain in the conference standings.
The Trojans were off to a quick start after a pass from Kaylee Wallentine found Lauren Henn to score the game's first goal in the 12th minute to put the Trojans up 1-0. The score would settle there for a long time but the Trojans would dominate play with 14 shots while the Jaguars only had two in the first half.
The second half showed more Trojan dominance as another 17 shots would give them two more goals. Kailynd Tubb would finish a chance over Gaby Smola in the 61st minute, while Hannah Fuchs would tally another just four minutes later as a quick one-two would find her in the box with a perfect opportunity to net herself a goal.
Although the Trojans showed dominance in the game, the Jaguars would net one of their own in the 89th minute after a corner kick would hit off a Trojan defender and set up Maddy Milhan to avoid the shutout.
The Trojans would take the win 3-1 and the three points with two matches to play in the regular season. TIU travels to take on the Robert Morris Eagles on Saturday, November 2, with kick off set for 12:00PM in Arlington Heights.
