ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. —- The TIU Lady Trojans soccer team took on the Robert Morris Eagles on Saturday in hopes to improve their placement for the upcoming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament.
The Eagles put up a strong fight to start the match as 15 minutes into the game, the first goal was scored after Marbella Rodriguez hit a shot from outside the box to give the Eagles the lead. TIU struggled to find a rhythm after that as a defensive miscue set up Lexy Langloss with an easy finish to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead just 20 minutes into the match.
The Trojans struggled the entire match to find opportunities as they only had eight shots compared to RMU's 17 in the game. TIU could not find a chance to break them out of the slump, as the game would end 2-0 in favor of the Eagles.
The Trojans now find themselves locked into the six-seed for the CCAC Tournament after the loss. TIU will host the Cardinal Stritch Wolves in the final regular season game of the 2019 campaign on Tuesday, November 5 at 1:00PM at Schartner Field.
