Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Trojans record third straight shutout in win over Cougars

CHICAGO, Ill. --- The Trinity International University women's soccer team took on the Saint Xavier Cougars late on Saturday afternoon at Deaton Memorial Field in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action.

Coming off a 2-0 win at Calumet College of St. Joseph a week earlier, the Trojans looked to continue their string of excellent play against conference opponents. The TIU defense held firm allowing only seven total shots in the game, three coming on goal with Trojans goalkeeper Rebecca Wells not allowing a single shot to sail into the net.

After nine failed shots to score, Kaylee Wallentine notched her third goal of the season to put the Trojans on the board for the match's only goal in the 61st minute, scoring unassisted from 20 yards out on the right side. TIU continued to put pressure on the Cougars defense for the remainder of the game as the Trojans picked up their fifth win of the season, clinching victory with a final score of 1-0. The win is also the third consecutive shutout win for TIU, and fourth of the season.

The Trojans return to action on Tuesday, October 8 as they return home to Schartner Field to host first place and #19 Trinity Christian College. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM.
