Trojans rolls to big win at Great Lakes Christian

LANSING, Mich. --- After opening up Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play earlier in the week, the Trinity International University women's basketball team returned to non-conference action on Saturday afternoon as they visited the Great Lakes Christian Crusaders for their second meeting of the young season. TIU was victorious against the Crusaders back in the season opener on October 25, 87-70 at Van Dixhorn Arena.

From start to finish, the Trojans dominated virtually every aspect of the game. Holding the Crusaders to just 12 first half points and 25% shooting, TIU used the game as an opportunity to flex their ability and work on their overall shooting.

The Trojans found success on both offense and defense, with four players scoring double-digit figures and six notching at least one steal defensively. TIU also dominated the rebounding game, out rebounding the Crusaders 43-29, including 12-11 on offensive boards.

Kassandra Ybarra led TIU with 15 points on the day, along with five rebounds, six assists and three steals. Alina Jahnke recorded 13 points in the win as well as two of TIU's six blocked shots. Carly Sheblo shot 50% from the field en route to a 12 point game, while Taylor Hibicke notched ten points.

The Trojans return to CCAC play on Wednesday, November 13 as they host the 25th ranked Indiana Northwest Redhawks at Van Dixhorn Arena. Opening tip is scheduled for 5:30PM.
