Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Robert Morris defeats TIU, 81-63

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The Trinity International University women's basketball team took on the Robert Morris University Eagles on Tuesday night in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action. In their final game prior to the Thanksgiving break, the Trojans looked to pick up an important conference win ahead of the holiday.

After a close start to the game, the Eagles pulled ahead in the late minutes of the first quarter. TIU struggled to shoot the ball in the second, completing only three field goals in the entire second frame. RMU in the meantime would lock down defensively and hold the Trojans to 11 points in the period as the teams went into the halftime break, with the Eagles leading 39-30.

Taylor Hibicke would find a groove in the third quarter as she knocked down three baskets from downtown and scored 10 points to cut into the RMU lead. With Carly Sheblo manuvering through the Eagle defense to find shots in the lane, TIU outscored the Eagles 21-16 in the period to cut the RMU lead to four points.

Despite a strong third period, the excellent Trojan shooting game could not be carried over to the fourth as TIU was held to just 12 total shots from the field. RMU would hit 14 of their 20 shots in the frame, including two three-point buckets to halt the TIU comeback, winning the game by a final score of 81-63.

Hibicke led the way for the Trojans with 16 points, while Alina Jahnke played well in the paint, scoring 13, as well as four rebounds. Krystal Walker scored 12 of the bench in 28 minutes, while Dana Percival led TIU with five boards.

TIU returns to action on Monday, December 2 as they visit the Holy Cross Saints in Notre Dame, Indiana. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
