Brammer and Campbell set new highs in loss at RMU

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Trinity International University football team battled the Robert Morris University Eagles at Morris Field on a chilled Saturday night in Mid-States Football Association-Midwest League action.

After giving up two 30 yard rushing touchdowns to RMU's Ke'von Johnson in the first six minutes, the Trojans cracked the scoreboard with Josh Sellers hitting a 39-yard field goal to cut the Eagles lead to 14-3. RMU would respond with two fast drives scoring on consecutive possessions on the ground with 65 and 78 yard touchdown runs by Johnson to give the Eagles a 28-3 to end the first quarter.

The Trojans would find the endzone early in the second quarter when Nolan Brammer found JImmy Campbell on a 14-yard touchdown pass. RMU's Noah Comerford would respond with Edward Clark with a 32-yard touchdown pass to push the Eagle lead to 35-10 midway through the second. TIU would find the endzone for a second time in the half with a Derek Lowe two-yard score to make it 35-17. The Eagles would however find the endzone one last time before halftime on the ground to go into the break up 42-17 on the Trojans.

After 14 minutes of scoreless action in the third quarter, Robert Morris' Ezekiel Tulloch found the endzone for the Eagles on an eight-yard score. RMU would tack on a 29-yard field late in the third to go up 52-17 as the game went to the final 15 minutes. Campbell would find the endzone for his second touchdown reception of the day as Brammer would connect with him on a 75-yard touchdown pass for TIU's lone score of the second half, as the Trojans fell to the Eagles 52-24.

Brammer threw for a season-high 423 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Campbell posted a career-high and school record 256 reception yards on 12 catches and two touchdown receptions. Defensively, Bryce Coleman led the Trojans with seven total tackles.

The Trojans are off this coming weekend, but will return to action on Saturday, November 16 for their season finale on the road against the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers in Bourbannais. Kickoff is set for 1:00PM.
