DEERFIELD, Ill. - With just two games remaining and a CCAC playoff spot on the line the TIU Men's Basketball team came up short in their efforts, suffering a 79-69 loss to Holy Cross on Wednesday evening.

Brandon Lawani once again was a standout for TIU, tallying yet another 20 point game, his third in the last four outings. Greg Carlyle, Jeremy Carlyle, and Nate Schmidt all finished the game in double figures for TIU.

It was a back and forth opening half with the Trojans jumping out to an early 7 point lead just four minutes into the game after a Lawani bucket. The Saints quickly bounced back after trailing early and all but put away the Trojans before the halftime buzzer.

Trailing 37-30 after 20 minutes the Saints offense went on a tear down the stretch, shooting 65% from the field, and leading by as much as 18 late in the half to close out the win.

TIU will look to close out the regular season with a win when they host Olivet Nazarene on Saturday afternoon.
