DEERFIELD, Ill. - Looking to snap a seven game losing streak the TIU Women's Basketball team came up short on Thursday afternoon, suffering a 79-53 loss to Holy Cross College inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.

The strong offensive play from Bridgette Smith and Krystal Walker helped propel the Trojans throughout the entire game. The duo combined for 43 points while Walker scored 22 and Smith tallying 21 of her own.

The Trojans got off to a slow start shooting the ball, registering just 7 points in the opening 10 minutes, On the other end of the floor Holy Cross came out firing, scoring 30 points of their own in the first quarter.

After falling behind early the Trojans were forced to play catch up the remainder of the game. Despite outscoring the Saints in two of the final three quarters the opening deficit was too much for the Trojans to overcome.

TIU will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Olivet Nazarene for their season finale on Saturday afternoon.
