SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Looking for their fourth straight CCAC win of the season the TIU Men's Basketball came up short on the road to the IUSB Titans, suffering a 78-71 loss on Wednesday evening.
Despite the strong play of
Brandon Lawani who finished the night with a game high 25 points and 14 rebounds, TIU was unable to close out a scrappy IUSB team.Â
Jeremy Carlyle and
Nate Schmidt each finished the night in double figures to round out the Trojans leading scorers.
The Trojans controlled the pace of the game for the majority of the night, leading the game that only saw three lead changes.
Leading in the late stages of the second half the Titans rallied back to take a 63-61 lead with under 5 minutes to go in the game. TIU continued to battle back but were unable to close out their fourth straight win.
The Trojans will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Judson University for a midweek CCAC showdown at 7:30 PM.
