WHEELING, Ill. - Taking on one of the best teams in the country and one of the top teams in the CCAC the Lady Trojans struggled to muster up any offense, suffering an 8-0 loss and 9-0 loss to St. Francis on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints came out of the gates quickly in the opening game of the day, scoring a pair of runs in the 2nd Inning to take a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish. The Trojans had their opportunities to get back into the game after a pair of walks and a Saints error in the 2nd, but were unable to put any runs on the board.
Danielle Dayley registered the only Trojan hit in the loss.
In game two, the Trojan offense once again struggled to get anything going against the Saints lock down pitching. After taking a commanding 8-0 lead after 3 Innings of play the Trojans found the hit column thanks to
Madison Lenzke and
Jessica Vroman, but the pair of hits was not enough to overcome the early deficit.
The Trojans will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they return home for a pair of games against Judson University at 3:00 and 5:00 PM.
