DEERFIELD, Ill. - With the post season on the horizon the TIU Baseball team picked up a trio of much needed conference wins, sweeping the IUSB Titans in their three game set over Friday and Saturday.

After a dominant 24-10 performance on Friday afternoon the Trojans looked to make it back to back wins on Saturday, and TIU did just that. Junior right hander Skyler Jankowski was stellar on the mound for TIU, firing seven innings, allowing just 5 hits and no earned runs to lead TIU to victory.

The Trojans opened the game with a run in the first inning after Emmanuel Andujar drew a bases loaded walk to open the scoring with TIU on top 1-0.

The Titans took advantage of a pair of Trojan errors in the 2nd innings, tying the game 1-1 through the 2nd.

Jankowski continued to roll throughout the middle innings keeping it a one run game through 6 innings.

With the game tied in the bottom of the 6th inning it was Andujar again who came up clutch as the Freshman drove in Blake Lazaris to give TIU the 2-1 victory.

The Trojans continued their strong play in the second game of the day, closing out a 7-6 victory and the weekend sweep over IUSB. Matt Pierson and Lazaris each recorded three hits for TIU in the victory.

TIU will look to keep the win streak going on Monday when they hit the road to take on Maranatha Baptist in a non-conference doubleheader.
