PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Trojans pounded out 11 hits against the Trolls, but their inability to do convert with runners in scoring position was the difference maker on Friday as the Trojans fell to Trinity Christian 9-2 at Schaaf Field.
The Trolls opened the game with a trio of runs in the opening inning, after a two run homer, and a double off the left center field wall proved to be the eventual game winning RBI.
After two more runs added on by TCC the Trojans chipped away at the deficit in the middle innings. TIU found the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the 5th inning thanks to an TCC wild pitch and an
Enyel Santana RBI single.
The Trojans offense could not muster anymore runs in the late innings, only adding as single hit from the 6th inning on.
TIU will look bounce back tomorrow when they host the Trolls for a pair of games at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
