DAVENPORT, Iowa. - Looking to snap a season long six game losing streak the TIU Softball team ran into a tough St. Ambrose squad, as TIU fell 8-4 and 7-0 to the Bee's on Saturday afternoon.
In the opening game of the day the Trojans offense got rolling in the early innings, thanks to another RBI hit form
Hannah Gentry. Gentry drove in
Lauren Neveau and
Hailey Kuriger to give TIU a 2-1 lead.
Despite the early advantage the Bee's battled back in the middle innings, scoring 8 unanswered runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to put the game out of reach.
The Trojans did not go down without a fight in the 7th after a two RBI single from Heraty made it the eventual final score of 8-4.
During the second game of the day the Trojan offense that tallied 11 hits in the opening game of the day, mustered just 5 in a 7-0 defeat. Kuriger and
Sara Grygus each registered a pair of hits in the loss, but it was not enough as the Trojans came up short 7-0.
