TIU falls at Siena Heights

ADRIAN, Mich. --- The Trinity International University football team took on the Siena Heights University Saints on Saturday morning at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian.

The Trojans offense struggled to find its footing in the running game as it allowed two Saints to rush for over 100 yards each in a lopsided 63-2 loss. Siena Heights jumped on TIU in the first quarter with three touchdown scores, anchored by a 95-yard run by Kaleb Jefferson, the longest run of his 200 yard day.

Ethan LoPresto got in on the action for the Saints with two touchdown runs for himself of 60 and 42 yards respectively to expand the Siena Heights lead. Trojans quarterback Darrius Henderson completed 25 of 38 passes for 193 yards in the air, and two interceptions trying to revive the TIU offense.

While the Trojan offense was unable to find the endzone, the defense was able to force a fourth quarter safety to avoid the shutout. Lorenzano Blakeney led the TIU defense with seven tackles, while Josh Burck tallied six tackles.

The Trojans return to action on Saturday, October 5 as they wrap up their two-game road trip at fifth-ranked Saint Xavier (IL). Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM at Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago.
