EAST CHICAGO, Ind. --- The Trinity International men's soccer team took the quick trip to East Chicago, Indiana on Saturday afternoon to match up with the Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave in conference play.
The Trojans would play well, but both teams would match up evenly throughout the game. Six total yellow cards and a second caution would send the Waves Kenneth Eze to the bench for the remainder of the game in extra time in the deadlock between the Trojans and the Crimson Wave.
TIU would dominate the extra time with four shots in 20 minutes against the Wave's single shot. However, the game would end in a 0-0 deadlock after 110 minutes, 23 shots and 33 fouls throughout the match. A number of big saves by goalkeeper Andre Wentzel would give the Trojans a point, keeping them in the hunt in conference play with several of their toughest opponents coming up.
The Trojans will return home to take on the Cardinal Stritch Wolves on Tuesday, October 1 in Deerfield at 4:00 PM at Schartner Field.
