Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Offense struggles in loss at Cardinal Stritch

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. --- The TIU women's basketball team returned to the road on Wednesday night as they resumed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play at Cardinal Stritch University at CSU Fieldhouse. Coming off a much needed home win against NCAA Division III Maranatha Baptist on Monday afternoon, the Trojans looked to pick up their first win in league play.

After a tight start in the first quarter, TIU struggled to find the bottom net, particularly from beyond the arc, where they shot two-of-15 on the night. Cardinal Stritch was able to move the ball exceptionally well, racking up 14 assists while shooting 39% from the floor and hitting seven three-point baskets.

Trinity's defense also had struggles as they came away with just five steals, while the Wolves stole the ball 15 times from the Trojans. With TIU facing foul trouble throughout the game, CSU was able to get to the free throw line for 12 attempts in the first half helping pad their lead throughout the night as the Wolves took control during the second half, rolling to a 65-44 win over Trinity.

Alina Jahnke led the Trojans with a 17 point and ten rebound double-double in the loss, while Daniela Lopez notched 11 points.
