BANNOCKBURN, Ill.. --- The TIU women's soccer team returned home to Schartner Field on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene University to campus for their homecoming game. Coming off a dominating 10-0 shutout win at IU-South Bend on Wednesday, the Trojans looked to put an exclamation point to the end of the week against a key conference opponent.
Action between the two teams would be fairly quiet until the 23rd minute when the Tigers took the lead on a Kaylee Evers goal assisted by Katie Knutte. It wouldn't be later until the second half when the Trojans tied things up with Chloe Kostos scoring unassisted, just five minutes after coming off the bench.
Tied after 90 minutes of regulation, Trinity and ONU entered the first overtime period looking for a quick score. In the end, it would be the Tiger who found the back of the net as Knutte found Teagon Albert on her second assist of the day, who netted the game-winning goal, handing TIU the tough 2-1 loss.
