JOLIET, Ill.. --- The TIU women's soccer team travelled to Joliet on Tuesday night as they took on the Fighting Saints of St. Francis (IL) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action. Following a tough overtime loss to Olivet Nazarene at home last weekend, the Trojans looked to get back on track as they begin the final three weeks of the regular season.
Under the lights, the Trojans would put plenty of pressure on Saints goalkeeper Yadira Estrada, but would struggle to put any shots past the goal line. After a scoreless first half, Trinity turned up the heat on USF with ten shot attempts in the second half.
Kate Jung and Emily Soriaga would lead the way for TIU with four combined shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net in regulation. Neither team would be able to muster any major offensive momentum as Trinity posted the lone shot attempt in both overtime periods combined. After 110 minutes of scoreless action, the Trojans and Saints ended the night with a 0-0 draw.
