DAVENPORT, Iowa --- The TIU men's soccer team hit the road late Saturday afternoon as they visited the Saint Ambrose University Fighting Bees in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play. Coming off a 6-1 home win earlier this week against Calumet St. Joseph, Trinity looked to string together consecutive wins for the first time this season, trying to do so in their final road game of the 2021 season.
SAU would put the pressure on TIU early with eight shot attempts in the first half, but would be unable to score in the first 45 minutes of play. Both teams would remain scoreless until the 62nd minute when Jonny Mueller put the Trojans ahead 1-0 on a shot to the right corner of the goal, assisted by Adam Przytula.
The blue and white doubled their lead 13 minutes later as Trenton Garside found the left corner of the goal off a pass from Jamin Kuepfer in the 75th minute. Protecting a 2-0 lead thanks to the solid defense played by freshman goalkeeper Jonathan Ayala, Garside put the final touches on Trinity's performance in the 83rd minute as he dribbled the ball around defenders to score on an assist by Mueller, giving TIU the 3-0 win.
