LAKEVILLE, Ind. --- The TIU women's soccer team visited north-central Indiana on Wednesday afternoon as they took on the Titans of Indiana University-South Bend in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action. Coming off a narrow 1-0 win at Roosevelt last weekend, the Trojans looked to put together a strong performance against a struggling Titans team ahead of a key conference match-up this coming Saturday.

Trinity overwhelmed their opponents from the start, with Emily Soriaga putting the Trojans ahead with an unassisted goal in the third minute of play. Morgan Busick, Payton Siragusa, and Kailynd Tubb would each score over the course of the next 20 minutes to give TIU a 4-0 lead. Micah Wassink would find the back of the net in the 41st minute, while Lauren Corral scored the first of two goals just before halftime in the 42nd minute, giving the Trojans a 6-0 lead at the break.

Trinity continued the offensive output in the second half as Kalie Rice notched TIU's seventh goal of the day in the 61st minute. Five minutes later, Abigail Olsson netted back-to-back goals in the 66th and 67th minutes for her third multi-goal match of the season. Corral put the final touches on the afternoon in the 73rd minute on an assist by Nicole Boudakh, closing out a dominating 10-0 victory.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• Wednesday's match was the first all-time meeting between Trinity International and IU-South Bend. TIU is 19-11-1 against first time opponents with their win today.

• Trinity's ten goals are the most scored in a match since they notched 14 against Lincoln Christian in the 2019 season opener.

• TIU's ten goals scored are their most against a CCAC opponent since shutting out Holy Cross (IN) 10-0 back on Oct. 18, 2016.

• With their win on Wednesday, Trinity has matched their win total from the shortened, postponed 2020 season. It also marks the fifth consecutive year that TIU has won at least seven matches.

• The Trojans overwhelmingly dominated on offense, out shooting the Titans 27-1, including 15-0 in shots on goal.

• Emily Soriaga's opening goal in the third minute was her third of the season.

• Morgan Busick's 13th minute score was her first of the 2021 season, and fourth of her career.

• Payton Siragusa's goal in the 19th minute was her fifth of the year, and eighth of the season. 

• Kailynd Tubb and Madison Martinez's assists on Siragusa's goal was the first of the season for both players.

• Tubb's 24th minute goal was her first of the season, and sixth as a Trojan.

• Micah Wassink's goal in the 41st minute was the first of her collegiate career.

• Lauren Corral's two goals increase her career scoring total to five. Her two scores were also her third and fourth of the year.

• Siragusa's assist on Corral's first goal in the 42nd minute was her first of 2021, and fourth in the sophomore's career.

• Nicole Boudakh recorded her first career assist and career point on the assist of Corral's second goal in the 73rd minute.

• Kalie Rice's goal in the 61st minute was her first of the season, and second of her TIU career.

• Kinsey Gomez notched the assist on Rice's goal, her second of the 2021 campaign and third of her college career.

• Abigail Olsson's consecutive goals in the 66th and 67th minutes give her 12 goals on the season, and 15 for her career.

• With a clean sheet on Wednesday, TIU goalkeeper Sarah Davis picked up her seventh win of the season, tying her with Rebekah Niedermeyer (2007-10) for the ninth most wins by a keeper in a single season.

• After 90 minutes defending the Trinity goal, Davis passed Heather Scherrer (2002-03) for sixth on the program's all-time list for goalkeeper minutes (2,130).

• TIU's victory marked Davis' 14th career win as a keeper, passing McKenzie Chappell (2015) as the fourth winningest keeper in program history.

• Wednesday's win was Davis' fourth career shutout in goal.

The Trojans (7-4-0) will return to action on Saturday, October 9 as they host the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene University for homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00pm CST at Schartner Field, with the game being streamed LIVE on the Trojan Sports Network.
