TIU struggles offensively in loss to SXU

CHICAGO, Ill. --- The Trojan's entered Saturday's game an even .500 in conference as they took on their latest CCAC opponent, the Cougars of Saint Xavier. In spite of Trinity's ability to convert on turnovers and second chance opportunities, the Cougars came out on top 79-69.

In the first half, Saint Xavier jumped to an 8-2 lead early on and set the tone for the remainder of the match. Around halfway through the opening twenty, Jack Kahoun stole the ball and converted for the tip-in bringing the scoreline within three points, trailing the Cougars 24-21. At the half, the Cougars led 48-32.

During the second half Trinity took more control, forcing another fifteen turnovers for Saint Xavier and converting almost 30 points on Cougar errors throughout the entire game. Despite the Trojans hitting more shots, they were unable to adapt to the Cougar's defensive dominance beneath the net in rebounds.

This afternoon's match was the first time all season the Trojans were held to less than 70 points, as they've averaged 86.2 per game. It's also the first loss where they've held their opponent to less than 90 points.
