BOURBONNAIS, Ill. ---Â The TIU Trojans continued in their string of conference opponents at McHie Arena on the campus of Olivet Nazarene on Wednesday evening. Ending a two-game win streak, the Trojans fell to the Tigers 109-88.
Throughout the first quarter, Trinity kept the scoreline close as the Tigers gave continuous offensive pressure but as the clock ticked the margin of scoreline continued to grow. The third quarter saw Trinity score 34-20 as they came out strong from the break and Olivet couldn't keep up.
Unfortunately, it was too little too late as the Tigers turned it back on in the fourth quarter and increased the 14-point deficit of the third quarter to 21. Though the Trojans shot over 56% from the floor and 63% beyond the arc, it wasn't enough to surmount the Tigers offense which outnumbered TIU in both shots and rebounds.Â
Wednesday's match had three Trojans shooting double-digits.
Breleigh Gula shot a career-high 22 points, beating her previous record by more than ten points;
Carly Scheblo earned a season-high 15 points, and
Louisa Schmidt added another 13.
Da'Naria Washington also led the team in assists contributing six.
