DAVENPORT, Iowa --- The TIU Trojans traveled to southeastern Iowa on Saturday afternoon to take on the Saint Ambrose Fighting Bees in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play in their first road match of the season. Coming off a 2-0 win taking on Governors State on Tuesday, TIU looked to pick up back-to-back wins, while the Bees looked to redeem themselves coming off a 2-1 loss to Judson in their previous outing.

The game was off to a physical start with multiple fouls from both teams. Both teams struggled on the attack with only a single shot for the Trojans and four from the Fighting Bees in the first half with the opening 45 minutes ending with a 0-0 score.

The second half started physically, but Saint Ambrose would catch a break as Morgan Wahlen scored in the 56th minute on a penalty kick. That would be the lone and winning goal as the Trojans would have just three more shots in the game but struggle to find the frame, dropping their first match of the year, 1-0.

ADDITIONAL GAME NOTES

• After Saturday's loss, the Trojans fall to 2-6-1 all-time against Saint Ambrose.

• TIU has now lost five consecutive matches to the Fighting Bees. Their last win came on Sept. 6, 2013 by a 3-2 score in Deerfield.

• Trinity is now 2-3 in their last five road openers, and 6-4 in the previous ten.

• The Trojans were held to just four total shots in the match, including just two on goal, one a piece by Cameron Hunter and Payton Siragusa.

The Trojans (1-1) will return home on Wednesday, March 3 as they host the Lakers of Roosevelt University in conference play. Kick off is scheduled for 6:30pm CT at the Heritage Park Sports Complex in Wheeling, and can be watched online LIVE on the Trojan Sports Network.
