Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Trinity holds off St. Francis for fifth win

JOLIET, Ill. --- The TIU women's soccer team returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they visited the St. Francis (IL) Fighting Saints in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play at Joliet Memorial Stadium. Coming off an 8-1 rout of Lincoln Christian on Thursday, the Trojans looked to post back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Both teams started off well holding possession throughout the first half, but it would be Trinity who would deliver the first blow as senior Lauren Henn would find the back of the net with a good pass from Cameron Hunter in the 24th minute for the 1-0 lead. The Trojans would outshoot the Saints 5-1 in the first half.

The second half would flip as the Saints would dominate the shooting board with 13 shots in the second half with eight on goal, but the Trojans would find the net first again in the 68th minute with Hunter scoring on a pass from Payton Siragusa for the 2-0 lead. St. Francis would get one back after Olivia De La Rosa would put her name in the books and try to get the energy back up for the Saints in the 77th minute. TIU goalkeeper Sarah Davis would save three shots following the USF goal to help the Trojans pickup the 2-1 victory.
