Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Trojans fall at Judson

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. --- The TIU men's soccer team returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they visited the Judson University Eagles at the McHenry Athletic Complex in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action. Coming off a tough 3-1 home loss to Olivet Nazarene on Tuesday, the Trojans looked to get back on track with a win in their final road game of the regular season.

The Trojans started well, but it took Jonny Mueller to sub for the Trojans to get them their first goal in the 24th minute on an assist from Xavier Brown. The lead would not be held for long as the Eagles would find the net just four minutes after from Gabriel Uno. Judson would score again in the 34th minute from Sebastian Padua to take the lead.

Late in the first half, Jamin Kuepfer would be called for a foul inside the penalty area to give the Eagles a penalty kick, plus a one man advantage with Kuepfer receiving a red card. Ramon Eurioles would put away the penalty shot for the two goal lead for Judson in the 45th minute. The Eagles would outshoot the Trojans 11-5 with a 3-1 lead going into the second half.

Judson would capitalize again in the 56th minute when Luis Germano would put the ball past Trinity goalkeeper Andre Wentzel for the 4-1 lead. TIU would respond quickly when Josiah Fuchs would stamp his name in the books in the 59th minute to get one back for the Trojans. That response would not last long as the Eagles turned around just seconds later to put Joshua Thompson in shooting range to go ahead 5-2.

The Trojans would not be done just yet as Mueller would score his second goal of the day with a ball from Trenton Garside in the 84th minute. Despite the late push, Trinity would fall short, dropping the match 5-3 to the Eagles.
