Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Trojans score late but fall at Lincoln, 3-1

LINCOLN, Ill. --- The TIU men's soccer team hit the road on Saturday as they visited the Lynx of Lincoln College in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) matchup. Coming off their first win of the season, the Trojans looked to build off their five-goal day from Wednesday afternoon against IU-Northwest as they faced last season's CCAC regular season runner-up.

Trinity would battle the Lynx to a scoreless first half of play, but wouldn't be able to hold off Lincoln for long despite a tough defensive effort.  The Lynx jumped ahead late in the 60th minute as Ivan Vlek scored the match's first goal on an assist by Cillian Coonan. Lincoln would strike again three minutes later as Luca Ganio-Mego found the back of the net on the assist by AJ Adbede.

Following a change in goal from freshman Jonathan Ayala to senior Daniel Hill, the Lynx scored once more, this time in the 69th minute as Isaac Norega connected with Erick Agulair. It would not be until the final minute of regulation that TIU finally broke through on the scoring sheet, as Josiah Fuchs slipped a goal past Lincoln keeper Adam Dempsey in the 89th minute on an assist by Sean Fenton. While Trinity avoided the shutout, it would be to little avail as they fell to the Lynx by a final score of 3-1.
