CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. --- The TIU women's soccer team traveled to nearby Crystal Lake on Wednesday afternoon as they took on the Judson University Eagles in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play. Coming off a dominating 8-1 win last Tuesday at home over IU-Northwest, the Trojans looked to keep their recent streak of five straight wins alive.

Both teams would be held scoreless for the first 45 minutes of play, but the Trojans would put early pressure on Eagles goalkeeper Marissa Fetters. Judson however would break through  in the 64th minute as Alex Wawrzniak scored on a shot just past Trinity goalkeeper Sarah Davis, on an assist by Lauren Kelly. While TIU would provide pressure late in an attempt to tie the match, they would be unable to find the back of the net, falling 1-0 to the Eagles.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• The Trojans are now 15-6-3 all-time against Judson after today's loss. The Eagles have also won two of the previous three matchups.

• Wednesday's loss snaps TIU's five match winning streak, their longest since the 2017 season.

• Both of Trinity's losses have come in shutout fashion. The Trojans fell 2-0 at #11 Indiana Wesleyan on August 28 to open the 2021 season.

• Judson outshot the Trojans 21-12 on Wednesday, including 9-6 in shots on goal.

• TIU goalkeeper Sarah Davis recorded a season-high eight saves in the loss. This also ties her career-high which she set against Olivet Nazarene last season.

• Payton Siragusa led the Trinity offense with two shots on goal. Abigail Olsson, Emily Soriaga, and Kate Jung also notched two shot attempts each.

UP NEXT

The Trojans (5-2-0) will return to action on Saturday, September 25 as they host #19 Trinity Christian at Schartner Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00pm CST, with the game being streamed LIVE on the Trojan Sports Network.
