Trojans defeated by Saint Ambrose despite individual best performances

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The Trojans were back at home again yesterday afternoon for a conference tip-off against the Fighting Bees of Saint Ambrose University. Regardless of a second half surge, Trinity lost 78-49.

Trojan stalwart Da'Naria Washington once again led the charge with ten points and six rebounds while sophomore Audree Peck chased right behind, just shy of a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds as she landed a season high in scoring. Below the basket, Breleigh Gula controlled the boards with ten rebounds as she locked in a new career best, including six on the offensive side which was the highest of any player on the court.

Currently averaging over 12 offensive rebounds per game, the Trojans grabbed their second highest total of the season with 16 against the Bees. The Trojans sank 20 points in the paint, with five players coming off the bench to combine for another 20 on the board.

The Trojans(2-11) take a few days away for the holiday break and return to play again next Wednesday, December 28th for a non-conference match-up against the Golden Eagles of Cornerstone University. Tip-off is set for 3:00pm in Van Dixhorn Arena.
