BANNOCKBURN, ILL. --- Back on the court again, the Trojans tipped off against the rival Trolls of Trinity Christian College this evening. A close fought battle on both sides, the Trojans put together a complete game and outlasted the Trolls while earning a big CCAC upset 65-58.
Da'Naria Washington opened the quarter with a 3-pointer for the Trojans, followed by a couple of layups by Alina Jahnke. The Trolls evened the score at 7-7 before the Trojans dropped two more 3-pointers, with Taylor Hibicke drawing her first points and Washington adding more to her would-be career high. The first quarter saw a tied score four different times before the whistle when the Trojans had the lead by a single point.
The Trolls tied the game 18-18 early in the second quarter and took the lead for the majority of the following minutes. TIU kept in step with the Trolls, never allowing them more than a four point cushion before overtaking the lead again in the final minute after a couple of free throws then layup by Daniela Lopez. Entering the break, TIU held the lead 34-32.
Keeping up the pressure, the Trojans went on a 10-4 run in the third quarter, increasing their lead to 10 points. Beneath the boards, the Trojans held strong while also creating turmoil defensively forcing the Trolls to shoot just over 13% from the field.
Starting the final quarter with a four point lead, Taylor Hibicke sank the Trojans first six points before Alina Jahnke added another six and brought the score to 58-49. In the fourth quarter, Jahnke led the Trojans in points and rebounds, completing her third double-double of the season. Withstanding the Trolls last push in the final minutes, the Trojans ended the game on top with a big win in the CCAC.

- This afternoon's matchup was the 24th meeting between Trinity International and Trinity Christian College. Today's result brings the Trojans to 7-12 overall and 3-11 in the CCAC
- The Trojans nearly doubled the Trolls with points in the paint, 28-16
- Alina Jahnke earned her third double-double of the season as well as her highest scoring game while leading the Trojans with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks;
- Taylor Hibicke notched 16 points and 5 rebounds
- Da'Naria Washington earned a career high 15 points and dropped 3-7 from beyond the perimeter
- Daniela Lopez added 10 points and 6 rebounds
