McQueen, Brown, and K. Thomas receive CCAC men's basketball postseason honors

CHICAGO, ILL. --- The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced their selection of men's basketball 2021-2022 awards. Trinity International University men's basketball has three Trojans receiving postseason honors: seniors Brandon McQueen and Sterling Brown, and freshman Kyonte Thomas.

Brandon McQueen was named Second Team All-Conference for the second year in a row after a record breaking season and career. The 6'1" senior from Cleveland, Ohio led the Trojans with 565 points this season while shooting 44% from the field. Earlier this season he broke 1,000 career points in a Trojan uniform. Throughout the season he totaled 152 rebounds, 128 assists, and 62 steals.

McQueen finishes his career as a Trojan holding multiple school records including:
  • #5 in career assists with 258
  • #7 in single season steals with 62
  • #8 for single season assists with 128

Sterling Brown earned Honorable Mention All-Conference after previously being named to the CCAC Second Team in 2021. The 6'0" senior from Carmel, Indiana posted 493 points, averaging 16.4 per game, as well as 118 rebounds and 145 assists. His breakout performance in assists this season ranks him #2 in TIU history for single season assists. Over his career, Brown has earned a total of 1,639 total points, 390 rebounds, 406 assists, and 183 steals.

Kyonte Thomas was named to the CCAC All-Freshman Team after a breakout performance his freshman campaign. He dropped 239 points, secured 98 rebounds, provided 122 assists and had 68 steals. His efforts in the latter two categories earned him a place in TIU record books. He now ranks #9 in TIU history for assists in a single season, and is ranked #6 for steals in a single season.
