Trojans defeated by Tigers in conference opener

BOURBONNAIS, Ill.. --- Yesterday afternoon the Trojans opened their conference season as they traveled to Olivet Nazarene University to face the Tigers at Watson Field. Ending their six game winning streak, Trinity fell to Olivet 2-12 after seven innings.
 
In the second inning the Trojans hit back to back singles from Riley Edington and Seth Lewallen before Luis Henriquez stepped up to the plate to hit another. Edington ran for home after rounding third, trying to get the Trojans on the board but would be thrown out at home. Olivet scored one run after a sacrifice fly to end the second inning 0-1.
The Tigers struck again in the third inning, adding three more runs to increase their lead as Trinity struggled to garner any offense. Bottom of the sixth, Olivet let loose with two home runs and scored another seven runs. The Trojans attempted to rally in the seventh inning after Blake Lazaris hit a home with 2 RBI, but would be unsuccessful.
 
Up Next:
The Trojans (7-8) travel to South Bend, Indiana tomorrow for their next conference game against the Titans of Indiana University at South Bend. The opening pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm EST and the game can be livestreamed on Regional Radio Sports Network.
