LINCOLN, Ill. --- Yesterday afternoon the Trojans saw the Lynx of Lincoln College across the plate as they traveled for their first CCAC doubleheader of the week. A domineering performance in the first game secured their third victory of the year before forcing three extra innings to break a tie in the second game where they ultimately lost.
 
Game One: TIU 11, Lincoln 3
Lincoln struck first after a double brought in one run to take the lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Paige Hintz followed with a double for the Trojans. After Morgann Paaske walked, an error by the Lynx brought Hintz home and put Paaske in scoring position. Hailey Kuriger singled to center field, notching two RBI and retaking the lead, 3-1.

The Lynx scored two more in the bottom of the third, capitalizing on a couple of Trojan errors.

Trinity scored two more in the top of the fourth inning as Paige Hintz notched her second career home run, after Josie Nelson singled to left field.

A scoreless sixth inning put the Trojans back at the plate with Hailey Kuriger leading off. Kuriger nabbed a single, then a stolen base before advancing to third on a wild pitch and ultimately scoring from an RBI by Britney Knox. Brooke Heraty and Gina Loy both hit singles before Hintz followed with her second double of the day to earn another RBI. After Hintz, Madison Lenzke singled to right center, bringing two more runs home and securing the victory, 11-3.

Jacqueline Kamery threw a complete game for the Trojans as she held the Lynx scoreless in five innings.
 
Game Two: TIU 5, Lincoln 6
Solid defense from both teams kept the game scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the Lynx scored one.

In the bottom of the fourth, Lincoln followed the previous inning with another run, increasing their lead, 0-2.

Trinity started connecting at the plate during the top of the fifth inning, collecting four hits and four runs. Paige Hintz led off with a single followed by Madison Lenzke with the same. A wild pitch advanced both runners before Meghan Ramseyer gave a sacrifice fly to center field and brought Hintz back across the plate. Hailey Kuriger and Britney Knox landed singles and earned one RBI each before Brooke Heraty hit another sacrifice fly to score another run.

At the top of the sixth inning, the Trojans led the Lynx 4-2. Paige Hintz walked then stole second to get into scoring position for a single by Jacqueline Kamery to send her home and increase Trinity's lead.

Lincoln began to rally in the bottom of the sixth inning as they scored three runs off of three hits and a couple of Trojan errors, tying the game 5-5.

A scoreless seventh inning with a tie score forced extra innings. The Lynx broke the tie in the bottom of the tenth inning with a double to left center that earned one RBI.

The Trojans (3-20, 3-15) wrap up their regular season later this week, hosting Roosevelt University on Wednesday, April 27th and Trinity Christian College on Friday, April 29th. Both doubleheaders will begin at 3:00pm and be streamed on the Trojan Sports Network.
