MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Saturday afternoon the Trojans were on the road again for another short trip, this time across the northern border to Cardinal Stritch University for a match-up with the Wolves. After the final pitch, Trinity walked away defeated by their conference foe.

Game One: TIU 2, CSU 3
In the circle for the Trojans, Jenna McIntyre led a strong defensive start as TIU held the Wolves to six batters in the opening two innings. Trinity collected two hits in the same frame, but was unable to string together momentum.

A couple of errors in the bottom of the third created a treacherous situation for the Trojans as the Wolves found themselves with bases loaded, however Gigi Redman secured the final fly out to end the inning and leave the home team stranded.

TIU recorded three hits in the top of the fourth but failed to convert on the scoreboard, while Cardinal Stritch collected a home run to take the single run lead in the home half of the same inning.

Izabella Hernandez recorded a double to left center, then a base hit from Waverly Swanstrom set up the bases for an RBI single from Gigi Redman to tie the ball game in the fifth. The Trojans forged ahead with the leading run in the next inning, after Alisyn Fullingim doubled with Alayla Thornton in scoring position.

After the Wolves equalized in the bottom of the inning, the Trojans took the plate again and seemed to grab back the reins after back to back base hits and a fielding error, but the tie-breaking run wouldn't come about as two Trojans were left on base. Cardinal Stritch went on to score the game-winning run to defeat Trinity.

Jenna McIntyre threw a complete game for the Trojans, striking out three batters. Alisyn Fullingim and Izabella Hernandez each recorded a double in the loss.

Game Two: TIU 1, CSU 8
The Trojans fell behind early in game two as the Wolves raced ahead three runs by second inning. Alayla Thornton opened the fourth inning with a double down the left field line before advancing to third on a fielding error as Heather Anderson reached first. At Coach Hankins' cue, Anderson stole second base and while the Wolves were distracted Thornton made her way home to put the Trojans on the scoreboard.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Cardinal Stritch's offense caught flame and the home side scored five runs. Trinity struggled to off-balance the Wolves' defense during their final two innings at the plate as they were retired in short order, ultimately dropping the contest.

The Trojans(2-23, 1-11) will host the Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist University in a non-conference doubleheader at Heritage Park Sports Complex in Wheeling, Illinois on Tuesday afternoon. Opening pitch is slated for 11:00am.
