 • Trinity International begins a busy week on Wednesday, when they host the Indiana-South Bend Titans in a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Trojans have five games on tap this week, with a three-game set against Judson coming up over the weekend.

 • The Trojans are coming off a three-game series with St. Xavier last weekend, opening the CCAC schedule with a 1-2 mark against the Cougars. The Titans come to Deerfield after earning the three-game sweep over Purdue-North Central last weekend.
 • Senior right fielder Jon Debowey has led TIU at the plate so far this season, hitting a team-high .446. His slash line of .446/.523/.625 is the highest in all three categories for the Trojans.
 • Freshman pitcher Jiri Vavrusa has posted the team's lowest ERA to date this year, at 2.86. The Prague, Czech Republic native has a 3-0 record through three starts on the mound.
 • Senior A.J. Bruner is tied for the CCAC lead in wins, with a 5-2 record. Bruner has made seven starts this year, and has earned a 3.14 ERA through 48.2 innings.
 • Shortstop Jeff Lindberg has reached base safely in the last 15 consecutive games, the longest streak for a TIU player this season. Lindberg will also enter play Wednesday with a five-game hitting streak, currently the longest hit streak on the team.
 • Zachary Haning has moved into the closer role in the Trinity bullpen; the freshman has recorded two saves on the year, in wins over Rochester (Mich.) on Mar. 10, and St. Xavier on Mar. 19. Haning has pitched 5.1 innings with a 0.00 ERA to date.
 • The Trojans' 11 victories so far this season has already surpassed last season's win total, and matches the program's 2014 total, with 28 games still to play in the regular season.
All-Time Series vs. Indiana-South Bend
 • Wednesday will mark the first ever meeting between Trinity International and Indiana-South Bend.
 • The Titans' baseball program is in its first season, under head coach Brian Blondell. Blondell was previously head coach at Holy Cross, but the Saints discontinued the baseball program after the 2015 season.
Conference Leaders
 • As a team, the Trojans boast the second-highest batting average in the CCAC this season, hitting at a .301 clip. Trinity ranks fifth in on-base percentage, at .379.
 • On the mound, TIU ranks 6th in the CCAC with a 4.41 ERA, and has 94 strikeouts, good for 6th in the league.
 • Senior pitcher A.J. Bruner currently leads the CCAC with 48.2 innings pitched. Bruner is also tied for the league lead with five wins, and is 2nd in the league with 35 strikeouts.
 • Outfielder Jon Debowey is 6th in the CCAC with a .446 batting average. The senior also has eight doubles at the plate this year, tied for 2nd in the conference. His on base percentage ranks 4th, at .523, and his slugging percentage is 8th-best in the CCAC, at .625.
 • Jon Grotelueschen is among the league's best at the plate as well. The senior center fielder is tied for 4th in the CCAC in walks (13), 6th in base hits (26), and tied for 6th in RBI. (18).
Last Time Out
 • The Trojans dropped two of three against St. Xavier over the weekend to open up conference play, falling at home 11-6 in the series opener on Friday, then splitting Saturday's doubleheader in Chicago.
 • The win in game two was the first for the Trojans over St. Xavier since 2011, as the Cougars had claimed 11 straight over TIU.
 • Jon Grotelueschen, Jeff Lindberg, and Michael Balistreri each picked up two base hits in the victory, with Balistreri hitting the lone double of the game. Freshman pitcher Jiri Vavrusa secured his third win of the season, pitching six innings while allowing three runs and striking out two.
Player of the Week
 • Senior pitcher A.J. Bruner was selected as the CCAC Pitcher of the Week on Mar. 16, earning the league's first weekly award of the season. Bruner was also named the NCCAA National Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career.
 • The Evansville, Ind. native threw two seven-inning complete games, leading the Trojans to victories over Penn State-Beaver and Rochester (Mich.). In his two outings, Bruner allowed just one earned run for a 0.64 ERA, striking out 10 batters while walking two.
Trojans in the PollsÂ
 • TIU Baseball appeared in the NCCAA National Rankings this week, moving into the No. 10 spot in the poll.
 • The ranking is the Trojans' first appearance in the NCCAA poll since 2010. Trinity reached as high as No. 4 in the national rankings on Mar. 30, 2010, after starting the season 15-8.
 • The Trojans are have yet to earn a spot in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, dating back to the poll's debut in 1998.
TIU Baseball History
 • Since 2006, Trinity Baseball has an all-time record of 182-275 (.398). The Trojans have two winning seasons during that span, in 2007 (28-20) and in 2010 (30-23).
 • Trinity's last appearance in the CCAC Tournament came in 2011, when the Trojans reached the CCAC Championship game, ultimately falling to St. Francis.
 • The Trojans made three straight appearances in the NCCAA Tournament from 2005-07, their last appearances in the national tourney.
