Baseball drops matchup with Tigers before weather cancels second game

Box Score BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Trinity International cranked out ten hits in a seven-inning affair with the Olivet Nazarene Tigers on Saturday afternoon, but the high winds and snow flurries made for a high-scoring game, as the home team defeated the Trojans, 27-6. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to the weather.

Third baseman Adam Gomski and second baseman Justin VanderNaald had two hits apiece on the day, as eight Trojans in all picked up a base hit. Reigning CCAC Player of the Week Jeff Lindberg also extended his streak to 23 consecutive games in which the junior reached base by going 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

The Trojans will return to Deerfield on Wednesday, April 6, when they host Trinity Christian in a CCAC doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m.
