Box Score 2 DEARBORN, Mich - Finishing their weekend with two non-conference matches, the TIU Volleyball team earned a split to round out the UM-Dearborn Invite on Saturday afternoon, falling in four sets to Spring Arbor University, then earning a straight set sweep of Williams Baptist.
The first match of the day saw the Trojans (2-4, 0-0 CCAC) fight back to even the match at one set a piece, winning the 2nd set 26-24 Â after dropping the first 25-14. The Cougars (5-2) would eventually come back to win the 3rd and 4th sets to close out the victory. Freshman
Madeline Decker once again led the Trojans during the first match of the afternoon for TIU, finishing with a double-double including 12 kills and 11 digs.Â
In the second match of the day, TIU cruised to a straight set sweep of Williams Baptist winning 25-21, 25-14, 25-19. Decker once again would lead the Trojans in kills with 15, and Sophomore
Ashlyn Spay would add 8 kills of her own, balancing the Trojan attack.
Penina Sao led Trinity International defensively collecting 15 digs, a career high at TIU.
