ELGIN, Ill. - It was another tough afternoon for the TIU Baseball team as the Trojans were unable to hold off the high powered offense of the Judson Eagles, losing 13-3 on Friday afternoon.
The Trojans got off to a good start on Friday, striking first on the scoreboard after
Matt Pierson knocked in
Matt Latimer after the Sophomore reached base with a single earlier in the inning.
The early lead was short lived as the Eagles jumped on the Trojans with 6 runs in the top half of the 2nd inning, thanks to four hits and taking advantage of two Trojan errors.
TIU would not go down easily as the Trojans rallied back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning thanks to an Eagle error, and a
Michael Luker RBI single.
After the pair of Trojan runs in the 3rd JU continued to get runners on base as the Eagles rattled off seven more runs over the next five innings, making it 13-3 and ending the game early after 8 innings.
The Trojans will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they head back to Elgin for a pair of games against the Eagles scheduled for 1:00 and 3:00 PM on Saturday.Â
