ELGIN, Ill. - After an opening 8-0 loss in the first game of the day the TIU Baseball team dropped a heart breaker in game two, suffering a 10-9 walk off defeat to Judson University on Saturday afternoon.

In the opening game of the day the Trojans struggled to get the bats going early in the game, managing just four hits over the 7 innings played. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, tallying 7 runs in the first two innings to take a commanding lead they would not give up. Matt Latimer led with way, going 2-3, while Julius Torres and Zach Kentner each went 1-3 to round out the Trojan offense.

Game two saw a much better performance from the Trojans, who saw their bats come to life after scoring a season high 9 runs and 12 hits.

Trinity International got on the scoreboard first in game two, putting up a pair of runs in the 2nd inning thanks to an Eagle error followed by a Julius Torres RBI single to put TIU up 3-0 Judson would then answer with five unanswered runs between the third and fourth inning to take a 5-3 lead.

The Trojans came storming back in the top half of the 5th thanks to a Mike Balistreri three run bomb, coupled by doubles from Luis Henriquez, and Matt Pierson that put the Trojans up 9-5.

Late in the game Judson showed why they are one of the best teams in the CCAC as they rallied back with five straight runs including a walkoff double in the bottom of the 9th to hand the Trojans the game two loss.

TIU will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they travel to Davenport, Iowa to take on St. Ambrose University.
